Welcome 5th Class 2016/17!
A big welcome back to all the boys in boys in 5th class. We’re looking forward to a great year! Let’s start the year with some great Dr. Seuss quotes!
Wow……30 Compliment Slips Already!!
The boys in 5th class have been super polite and respectful around the school and have earned our class 30 compliment slips already! What a great achievement!
As a reward we enjoyed a pizza from Roma and an ice-cream party! A fun and tasty evening was had by all!
Student of the Month-September 2016!
Well done Beeran…our student of the month for September! Beeran has worked really hard since joining our class this year….Keep up the great work Beeran!
Art Fun!
We have been busy Artists so far this year and have created pieces of handprint Art inspired Andy Warhol. We also created some funky Psychedelic Name Art…Can you spot the hidden names???
Maths Week!
We have had an exciting and busy Maths Week in 5th class! On Monday we enjoyed a Maths Trail around Cavan Town. We also enjoyed some Maths Games, Maths Stations and had fun practicing our tables and problem solving skills playing ‘Make 10’.
Keeping Fit!
We began our swimming lessons this week and look forward to improving our swimming skills.
We also began basketball lessons with and completed a 6 week Yoga course with Catherine.
Idiom fun!
We were learning about idioms in English class and enjoyed creating some posters to illustrate our favourite idioms!

The Guns of Easter!
We have been engrossed in our new novel ‘The Guns of Easter’, and were busy with Ms Russell creating timelines, character profiles and interesting Haiku poems! Well done boys!
Cheerios Childline Breakfast Morning!
Our class recently took part in the Cheerios Childline Breakfast Morning, while raising funds for this worthy charity!
Halloween Fun-28th October 2016!
We had a fun filled day today! The student council organised a fancy dress with prizes for the best home made costumes and homework passes foe all those who dressed up.
To celebrate Maths week we had Maths Stations in the Hall and had lots of fun at our Halloween Scavenger hunt in the yard!
Also well done Rowan (Student of the Month for October) and Eryk (Winner of the class Fancy Dress)! Have a great mid term boys and enjoy your well deserved Halloween break!
