Celebrating Maths Week in 4th Class
This week is Maths week all over Ireland. Today Mr. Monaghan’s class and our 4th class put our brains together to play some of the maths games in our school. We played everything from pattern challenges, memory games, number challenges and card games. It was lots of fun working with boys from another class and improving our Maths skills while having fun!
Cheerios Childline Breakfast Morning! Delicious!
This morning we would like to thank everyone for all of their generous donations to Childline.
National Tree Day! Hello Autumn!
Last Thursday the 5th of October we celebrated National Tree Day and we also took the opportunity to welcome Autumn. We went to the Old Franciscan Abbey on Abbey street. We gathered leaves and took bark rubbings from the trees. We took them back to class and classified the leaves into their groups. We also managed to count the rings of the trunk of the tree to give an estimate of how old it is. We took some cool photos and hope to win a competition for best photograph and maybe an Ipad for our class!
HIIT Training with Joe Wickes and 4th Class
Welcome everybody! We are just over 2 weeks back to school and it is time to focus and of course get fit! We talked about the importance of training and getting at least 30 minutes exercise each day. This week the famous fitness coach Joe Wickes has been trying to get as many children around the world working out at the same time. Each morning at 10am we did HIIT training! This stands for High Intensity Interval Training. We did push-ups, squat jumps, jogging, jumping jacks and many more exercises for 30 seconds on with a 30 second rest. We had to listen for the beeper. It was a tough workout but lots of fun and we gained energy for the day from it! This year our class will try to keep healthy and fit!
